Dundee University Medical Education Institute (MEI)

The Medical Education Institute provides a focus and structure to ensure the Medical School produces well-rounded graduates equipped with the skills and knowledge to enable them to work within, shape and lead 21st century healthcare systems. The six centres within the Institute contribute to the delivery of exciting and challenging courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and for continuous professional development. These healthcare programmes are delivered by motivated and empowered teaching and clinical staff working with students in a research rich, inter-professional, modern and supportive environment with the delivery of a high quality student learning experience being at the heart of all of our educational activity. The Institute is committed to research into education in the healthcare professions with the current focus for research activity being professionalism of healthcare students and its assessment; effectiveness of inter-professional learning and skills development; development and effectiveness of authentic simulated health care environments for learning safe practice.
