Locally the Clinical Skills Centre works closely with clinical educators from NHS Tayside. Currently Centre staff are involved in the development of a board game to facilitate clinical human factors teaching in collaboration with colleagues from NHS Tayside, School of Nursing and Midwifery and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD).
We are continuing to work closely with DJCAD to develop redesign and redevelopment of a multipurpose simulation area to provide different contexts e.g. Emergency Department, Home Setting, Operating Department in which students and postgraduate staff can undertake immersive simulation exercises.
In addition to working closely with NES East Deanery on the national Doctors in Difficulty programme the Centre also supports the NES National Optometry Programme and National Pharmacy Programme. Both these programmes support Advanced Practitioners and independent prescribers to enhance their role through training and clinical assessment skills.
