The Centre consists of three main areas.

The original phase created seven procedure rooms, two seminar rooms, a meeting room and staff accommodation.  On a daily basis this is where most of the teaching takes place.  Procedure rooms are not designated for specific tasks but are arranged and rearranged as required depending on the skills being taught.  This area also includes a designated resuscitation training room which is used continuously by both NHS and university personnel.

The second phase has a multipurpose simulation area and a further seminar room, a Harvey heart simulator room, and a self-directed learning room in which students can practice skills with access to on line resources.

The final and newest area is the Dow Clinical Simulation Suite consisting of three consultation rooms, a six bedded state of the art hospital ward, High Dependency Area and extensive audio visual recording facilities.  Adjoining this is a control room which can allow recording or real time observation of activities taking place within any part of the Suite.
